OÖ Energiesparverband
The OÖ Energiesparverband is the energy agency of Upper Austria. It was set up by the regional government in 1991 to promote energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and innovative energy technologies. The main target groups are private households, public bodies (e.g. municipalities) and businesses. The energy agency is active on local, regional, national, EU and international levels with numerous projects and programmes.
The OÖ Energiesparverband supports the regional government in the development and implementation of regional energy programmes.
The OÖ Energiesparverband supports the market development of sustainable energy production and use with the following programmes and projects:
A main field of activity of the agency are comprehensive information and awareness raising activities on sustainable energy production and use, for example the provision of energy advice to private households, public bodies and companies (more than 15,000 advice sessions/year), media campaigns, training courses or publications for different target groups.
This also includes the organisation of seminars and events, e.g. the WORLD SUSTAINABLE ENERGY DAYS, one of the largest annual European conferences on sustainable energy.
A very important field of activity is the implementation of the sustainable buildings programme for the regional government. Since 1993, the OÖ Energiesparverband has calculated the energy performance indicators of over 70,000 buildings and issued energy certificates for these buildings.
The OÖ Energiesparverband also provides a number of services to businesses and municipalities. This includes energy advice for their buildings and energy installations, support in tender procedures or in the development of local energy strategies. On behalf of the regional government, the OÖ Energiesparverband manages a fund for energy performance contracting for energy efficiency and renewable energy investments.
The OÖ Energiesparverband has co-ordinated and implemented numerous projects supported by EU programmes (e.g. in the framework of the Intelligent Energy Europe, FP6, INNOVATION programmes) and is member of several European energy networks (FEDARENE, EUFORES, Energy & Transport Forum).

The OÖ Energiesparverband is the energy agency of Upper Austria, founded by the regional government with the aim of promoting energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and innovative energy technologies. It is the central institution for energy information in Upper Austria and one of Europe’s largest energy advice and information providers.
The OÖ Energiesparverband is also responsible for the management of the Ökoenergie-Cluster, a network of 150 companies active in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
